The input section features the unique servo bias input circuitry with a standard TA5M jack for use with electret lavalier mics, dynamic mics, or line-level signals. A DSP-controlled analog audio limiter is employed before the A/D converter. The limiter provides over 30 dB of range for excellent overload protection. With a dual release envelope, the limiter remains acoustically transparent, maintaining low distortion. It recovers quickly from brief transients and slowly from sustained high levels to keep distortion low while preserving short-term dynamics.
