The K‑Tek KP9CCR Mighty Boom Boompole features a collapsed length of 31.5″ (80 cm), an extended length of 9′ (2.85 m), and weighs 2.1 lbs (0.95 kg). This 6‑section graphite boompole includes a removable headpiece for easy cable reconfiguration without soldering. It comes pre‑installed with the KPCK9 internal coiled cable featuring the Mighty Boom Right Angle connector, and the KPCCR bottom module providing a male 3‑pin XLR side exit. The top attachment is a 3/8″‑16 male thread. Made in the USA.

Detailed Description

The KP9CCR is part of K‑Tek’s updated Klassic Mighty Boom series, designed for maximum modularity and field‑serviceability. The removable headpiece allows fast conversion between uncabled, coiled, straight‑cabled, or transmitter‑mounted configurations. After loosening a standard set screw, the headpiece threads on or off smoothly, enabling cable installation or removal without soldering.

This model includes K‑Tek’s new improved internal coiled cable system. The Mighty Boom Right Angle connector is built on a Neutrik base, featuring thicker‑gauge wiring, aluminum shielding for enhanced RF protection, and a robust strain‑relief system. The connector’s orientation can be adjusted by unthreading and rotating the housing.

The Mighty Boom series is engineered for increased rigidity while maintaining lightweight performance. Wider tubes and a six‑section design improve stiffness, handling balance, and cueing precision. The locking collars have been redesigned with a thicker, smoother surface for more controlled extension. A new anodizing process and oval exterior divots provide better grip and smoother operation. Each pole is hand‑burnished to reduce handling noise.
