The K‑Tek KP18VCCR Mighty Boom Boompole features a collapsed length of 59″ (149.9 cm), an extended length of 18′3″ (5.58 m), and weighs 3.1 lbs (1.4 kg). This 5‑section graphite boompole includes a removable headpiece for easy cable reconfiguration without soldering. It comes pre‑installed with the KPCK18V internal coiled cable featuring the Mighty Boom Right Angle connector, and the KPCCR bottom module providing a male 3‑pin XLR side exit. The top attachment is a 3/8″‑16 male thread, and the bottom end includes a removable rubber bumper. Made in the USA.

Detailed Description

Replacing the classic K202CCR boompole, the KP18VCCR retains the familiar 5‑section heritage while incorporating the engineering improvements of the Mighty Boom series. Compared to the 6‑section Mighty Boom models, it features a slightly smaller outside diameter on the bottom section, offering a familiar feel for operators accustomed to the K202 design.

The removable headpiece allows fast conversion between uncabled, coiled‑cable or transmitter‑mounted configurations without soldering. After loosening a standard set screw, the headpiece threads on or off smoothly, enabling quick field reconfiguration.

The internal coiled cable system includes the Mighty Boom Right Angle connector, built on a Neutrik base with thicker‑gauge wiring, aluminum shielding for improved RF protection, and a robust strain‑relief system. The connector’s orientation can be adjusted by unthreading and rotating the housing.

The Mighty Boom series is engineered for increased rigidity while maintaining lightweight performance. The locking collars feature a thicker, smoother surface for controlled extension. Anodized oval divots with exterior dimples provide a secure grip and smooth feel. The finish between the tubes is optimized for silent, fluid movement, and each pole is hand‑burnished to reduce handling noise.
