M-Audio Studiophile LX4 5.1 Expander System

The M-Audio Studiophile LX4 5.1 Expander is an add-on kit that transforms the M-Audio Studiophile LX4 2.1 system into a full 5.1 surround sound monitoring system by adding three passive satellite speakers. It is no longer in production, but used units may be found on second-hand markets.

The expander is designed as a simple and economical upgrade path for the original 2.1 system, with power supplied directly from the subwoofer unit, eliminating the need for additional amplifiers or AC power routing for the new satellites. 
 Components: The package includes three additional LX4 satellite monitors and speaker wires.
 Drivers: Each satellite features a 4-inch polypropylene low-frequency driver and a 1-inch Mylar high-frequency driver.
 Power: Each satellite is powered by the main 2.1 subwoofer unit, receiving 15 watts per channel (the 2.1 system's original satellites receive 27W per channel, while the expander satellites receive 15W per channel, powered from the same 6-channel amp in the sub).
 Enclosure: The satellites have a compact, ported design for optimal audio response.
 Connectivity: The satellites connect to dedicated speaker outputs on the back of the M-Audio Studiophile LX4 subwoofer unit.
