The K‑Tek KP20 Mighty Boom Boompole features a collapsed length of 54″ (137.2 cm), an extended length of 20′ (6.1 m), and weighs only 2.5 lbs (1.13 kg). This 6‑section graphite boompole includes a removable headpiece for easy cable reconfiguration without soldering. The top attachment is a 3/8″‑16 male thread, and the bottom end is fitted with a removable rubber bumper. Compatible with the KPCK20 cable kit and KPCCR bottom module for a coiled‑cable configuration with a side XLR exit. Made in the USA.

Detailed Description

The KP20 Mighty Boom is part of K‑Tek’s redesigned Klassic series, offering increased modularity and faster configuration changes. The removable headpiece replaces the sealed, soldered designs of earlier generations. After loosening a standard set screw, the headpiece threads on or off smoothly, allowing the user to install or remove cables without soldering. The pole can be quickly converted between uncabled, internally coiled, straight‑cabled, or transmitter‑mounted setups.

K‑Tek has engineered the Mighty Boom series to be more rigid while maintaining lightweight performance. The addition of a sixth section and wider tube diameters increases stiffness, improves handling balance, and enhances cueing precision.

The locking collars have also been upgraded. The traditional captive collet now features a thicker, smoother surface for more controlled extension. A new anodizing process and oval‑shaped exterior divots provide improved grip and smoother operation. The finish between the tubes has been refined so the pole glides open and closed quietly, and each Mighty Boom is hand‑burnished to reduce handling noise.

Compatible with the KPCK20 cable kit and KPCCR bottom module for a coiled‑cable option with a side XLR exit.
